Lemon Vertical Roll Cake + Rhubarb Rose Frosting

This cake is somewhat on the smaller side, though it could still feed 8-12 people with small slices.

It’s a super soft, delicate lemon sponge cake that’s filled and frosted with a tangy rhubarb frosting that is lightly scented with rose water. To pretty up the top of the cake, we drizzle a rhubarb glaze over it and decorate it with nectarine blossoms in spring days and in other seasons, we decorate with topping cream, instead of.
